My whole aim is to help you have a harmonious and happy relationship with your dog. No dog is perfect; all of them have quirks, likes and dislikes, just like us. I’ll show you how you can work with them, through management and training to create a better bond with your dog. When owners or guardians understand more about what their dog is telling them, the better the relationship and the less unwanted behaviour will be shown by the dog.
The more a dog trusts you, the more they will listen. Its a 2 way conversation.
I believe in using a positive approach. Essentially, this is a process of encouraging or establishing a pattern of behaviour by providing reward when the dog offers the behaviour you are looking for. It does not mean that I don’t use a word or action to show that I would prefer the dog not to do something. I do use food, toys and games to make learning fun and embedded for the long term.
If you are looking for a trainer that uses shock collars, choke chains or does not use food, toys, games or social engagement for reinforcement, then I am not the trainer for you.
I don’t pretend to be a specialist on all things dog. What I do offer is a well rounded approach and bring experience and knowledge to my work with you. My continual training keeps me aware of other options that could be open to you. Ultimately it’s what is best for your dog and family.
