Separation Anxiety support and training

Separation anxiety behaviours can be challenging and restrictive. If you would like to be able to leave your dog without having to worry then do get in touch. Perhaps they are just following you everywhere or you are concerned about spending time away from your dog having spent the last year permanently with them, then do get in touch.

As a trained specialist and SA Pro, I offer highly supportive remote training programmes with a sensitive and understanding approach. I work across the UK so distance is not a problem and make use of tools such a training app, videos, and scheduled Zoom meet ups.

My programmes run from initial consults to 4 or 8 weeks for adult dogs and a specialised 4 week puppy programme. I have follow-on light touch options for longer term support while you continue training. Do get in touch to find out more.

private One to one training or behaviour modification

It can be a stressful time for the family if a dog displays unwanted behaviours. My aim is to help you see why the dog is showing the behaviours and how you can be the change for your dog. I view this as education for both owner and dog. You can’t train if you don’t understand why the dog is behaving the way they are. Do any of these sound familiar?

Barking and reactive to other dogs or people, pulling on the lead, recall problems, guarding toys or food, travelling anxiety, over-excited at the door, jumping up, excessive chewing, marking or soiling in the house, separation anxiety, over coming fears such as fireworks

There can be many other issues so don’t hesitate to get in touch so I can help your relationship with your dog get back on track.

Prior to the visit, I will ask you to complete a questionnaire so I can get as much information in advance as possible. Depending on the behaviour, I may also suggest a vet visit to rule out a medical issue that could be causing the problem.

All behaviour modification starts with up to a 90 minute assessment, by video call, to assess, discuss and view the behaviour first hand. I will provide you with advice and training techniques to reduce the behaviours and we can then look at an on-going programme.

INDIVIDUAL EDUCATIONAL DOG WALKS (direct meet ups)

Walking your dog should be a bonding and enjoyable experience. Many dogs can find this time of day scary and stressful. Or it might be hugely exhilarating and they get so excited they don’t know what to do next. I will walk and work with you observing and advising on techniques and training as the need arises. I may also use my lovely stooge dog, Riley, if a calming influence is needed.

Rescue, adoption or rehoming support

As a great believer in ‘adopt don’t shop’ I am very keen to help people find the right rescue dog. I can work with you by travelling with you to the rescue centres, help you liaise with the rescues, advise you on how to ready your home and how to bring the dog into the home. Dogs often find us, not the other way round! Rescue does not mean broken but some can come with issues which I can help you understand and manage.

Initial 1 hour consult - £50 then as agreed and required
